It was so glad to hear R read his first book with little help. He read the book "Hot Dog" by Molly Coxe. He first read it with me and then re read it to Dad. I am so proud of him. His phonics had excelled and is showing more and more interest in reading by himself.
I hope he continues on his reading skills.

December Sensory bin and playdough
I made this sensory bin with colored green rice, colored pom poms, bells brought from Dollar Store. I gave the tray to R to sort the pompoms by color but insted he enjoyed filling it with rice.
It was great fun with the playdough and christmas themed cookie cutters.

Rudolph and others
We read the book "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer" and we did this craft with R's footprint and handprint. We made red nose from pom pom and his mouth from a pipe cleaner.
I got the game of stamping lowercase letters at Pre-K pages. Instead of using colored chips I asked R to stamp using Do a dot markers.

Candy Cane
We made a very simple candy cane craft and then we did the candy cane matching game which is good for visual discrimination skills. The craft is very simple made by cutting red candy cane and then pasting white stripes.
Gingerbread Theme
We read "Gingerbread Man" by Eric A. Kimmel and "Gingerbread Baby" by Jan Brett.
Gingerbread Man Dough - I mixed the equal quantities of cinnamon powder and applesauce, in fact abit more of cinnamon and we made a dough. R cut several gingerbread man and baby from the different sizes of cookie cutters. We decorated them with buttons, googly eyes, sequins and bows and icing shapes cut from foam. it was lot of fun.
Gingerbread Pattern - I had some gingerbread man and other pattern stickers from Dollar Store. SO we used the stickers to make the patterns. So proud of R for this. He just did all by himself !!
Size Sequencing - I got the print from HomeSchool Creations.
Gingerbread Book - I got the print from online and we had fun making this book where R had to cut one leg, then the other leg, one arm and so on !!
Gingerbread Roll n Stamp - I got the idea from Pre-K pages. I made the game board on a piece of paer by drawing the outline of the gingerbread man and wrote the numbers 1-6 in randome order inside. We had fun playing this game.

We read the book" There was an old lady who wasn't afreaid of anything" by Linda Williams. We enjoyed the story and I made some props from felt and we retold the story. It was great fun !!
Letter of the week-Letter L
First we cut out the L picture cards from 1+1+1=1. They are really nice and R cut them and then pasted on to a construction paper.
We also made this ladybug craft. I had cut the head and the body from the black construction paper. R painted a paper plate red with his roller brush and then we made a cut in the paper plate to look like wings. We pasted the wings on top of the body and then pasted the black dots. We added antennas to complete the craft.
I wrote uppercase and lowercase L with a black marker which R poked with a pushpin.
R sorted the ladybugs in the order of the size. I got the print from the Confessions of a homeschooler.
R did the ladybug pattern on a blank white paper, the pattern is from Confessions of a homeschooler.
I used the ladybug pieces from the pattern prints above to practice on the ABAB, AAB and ABB pattern.
We did some dot to dot, coloring of ladybugs, and writing L practice.

From our Math and counting practice, I gave R some dots and then asked me to paste the number of dots written on the ladybugs' bodies. I got the idea from http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/
