R and I also played egg scavenger hunt game at home on Easter and R played very nicely with no tantrums and meltdowns. It was fun.

We also played the Egg sound matching game. I ad filled two eggs with similar things like rice, beans, pasta and coins. R had fun with this.

Continued Spring/Garden theme

Continuing on our garden theme, I made a sensory play garden for R with little potting soil, fake flowers and plants with planters and pots. it was real fun.

We did this Daisy math activity where I wrote a number on the centre of the flower and then asked R to put that many petals on the flower.

Some letter writing practice related to garden and spring.

Parts of a flower craft and learning inspired from Homeschool Creations

R is loving the Up down and around book so much that we read this so many times a week. I got some old vegetable picture cards and then made columns in apaper for Up, Down and Around and then asked R to tell where that vegetable grows and then he wrote it under that column. I was surprised that R had so quickly learned all that.

Flower pattern from flower stickers

Easter craft

We made this super cute and easy Easter egg craft and the inspiration came from none other than Notimeforflashcards.com. It was so easy and fun that R did this independently many times later.

The egg was drawn by R himself and then i helped him put tape on it and then after drying we just peel off the tape.

Letter of the Week - R for Rainbow

I thought this would be the perfect time for us to do Letter R. We made this R for Rainbow craft inspired from notimeforflashcards. Basically you paste color construction paper stripes on the letter. It came out beautiful.

We also read the book "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfitzer. We did a rainbow fish craft too. R drew a fish through guided drawing and I am so proud that he did this. He then colored it orange (his current favorite color) with a crayon and then he pasted various colors of scales. For the shiny scales, we used the aluminium foil. It looks really pretty.
We also read the book "Cock a doodle Quack Quack" by Ivor Baddiel. And then we made a lowercase craft "r" for rooster craft. The craft is inspired from Totally Tots blog.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts and Activities

Book we read -
Thats what leprechaun do by Eve Bunting

We made this garland of shamrocks inspired from Notimeforflashcards. First I had cut shamrocks from the coffee filters. R mixed yellow and blue to make green color and then we also added golden glitter on top.

We also did a basic shamrock sun catcher. Cut the construction paper with a shamrock template and paste contact paper on the paper and then stick tissue papers on the contact paper.

I also made a sensory box for the St.Patrick's theme by putting green color rice, yellow lentils, Green pom poms, gold coins, tongs and cups.

We did some letter wriitng practice. I wrote the theme words with a highlighter and asked R to trace them first and then copy them in the blank boxes below. I was surprised at how his handwriting has improved. Some of the words were just so fine.

We also did a Leprechaun craft from a paper plate with orange beard and green hat.

We had a rainbow craft with VIBGYOR colors.
I drew the rainbow with the markers and made R paste the tissue papers, pompoms, scrapped papers and buttons. R really enjoyed doing this especially pasting the buttons. It came out beautiful too.

We did some counting too. Since R had been counting good things 10 or so I decided to work on things above 10. I got the print from Musings of me, She has wonderful packs for various themes.

We also did an activity to focus on phonics. R had to separate the pictures starting with sh and those which don't. He really enjoyed that. I got the print from makinglearningfun.

We also played a game of roll and color. I got the game from makinglearningfun

Finding the four leaf clover. Print is from Kidssoup

Treasure hunting for gold coins. I had written clues on sticky notes and hidden gold coins and then gold coin candy in the last clue. R really enjoyed it.
