Bear Snores On...

We read the book "Bear Snores on" by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman and loved it !! It's such a wonderful book and also checked out the DVD of the same from the library.

To go with the book, we made a bear craft. I took a print of the bear and asked R to glue the cinnamon powder on it. R enjoyed doing this. We also made a cave/den for the bear with a paper bag and pasted cotton on the roof for the snow.
We also made the bear sleep in his cave.

I made a bear craft from the shapes and showed the completed bear to R and asked him to make a similar ones and gave him the pre cut shapes. I guess that wa easy for him to him to copy

Christmas Books

We read many books and some of them are--

Bear stays up for Christmas by Karma Wilson

Twas the night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore

Olive the other reindeer by Vivian Walsh

Clifford's First Christmas by Norman Bridwell

Happy Christmas Gemma by Sarah Hayes and Jan Ormerod

Symmetrical Mittens

To work on making symmetrical mittens i created one of the mittens and asked R to make similar mitten. He actually did a pretty good job at making a copy. I used sequins, pompoms, foam shapes.

Few more christmas crafts and activities...

R stringed some bells into a pipe cleaner.

R sorted the ornaments by color and also by pattern like striped, large polka dots, small polka dots. I got the print from prekinders.com

R did this count and addition sheets. I got the print from tlsbooks.com

We also did some color by number and color by words sheets which I got from Heidi Songs resourse.

Christmas Crafts and Activities

We made a christmas tree craft by twisting diffrent lenghts of pipe cleaners around a green colored craft stick. We added ornaments by beading.

We also made a christmas stocking. It turned out to be very pretty. I wanted to make it with foam or felt but we were out of both in the desired color. But I was happy with the outcome.

I did some guided drawing with R and taught him snowman and tree. Then we made some cute cards for his teachers and our family members. I was happy to see the results.

Since R and I had been sick most of the week so things didn't go as planned and we just couldn't do much activities. Hopefully in the coming week we both shall recover and with energy to do some more.
I wanted to do a tissue paper cut and paste wreath with him and also some Santa craft but we just couldn't. Maybe we will save those for the next year.
